William Penn, an English Quaker, founded the city in 1682 to serve as capital of the Pennsylvania Colony. Philadelphia played an instrumental role in the American Revolution as a meeting place for the Founding Fathers of the United States, who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 at the Second Continental Congress, and the Constitution at the Philadelphia Convention of 1787. Several other key events occurred in Philadelphia during the Revolutionary War including the First Continental Congress, the preservation of the Liberty Bell, the Battle of Germantown, and the Siege of Fort Mifflin. The city's population doubled from one million to two million people between 1890 and 1950.

    Chicago Law Firm that used an Access database to manage their cases. We migrated their Access tables to MySQL tables in the cloud: Our Server.
  • Routt County Alcohol Council
    The Council contacted us to upgrade their Access 97 database to the current version of Access. We have to first move the database into Access 2003, and then into Access 2019 (365). The was further complicated due to a workgroup information file protecting the Access 97 database and then advanced vba code that needed modification.

    We are frustrated that Microsoft does not provide a transparent upgrade path from Access 97 directly to Access 365 (or whatever current version of Access is out today). We are further frustrated that Access discontinues support of features such as workgroup information files, pivot tables/report, Access Data Projects. So clients are forced to contact consultants like Data Control. We realize the importance of your database and the dilemma you are in. So we try to fairly price the upgrade to the new version of Access hoping that we can get future development work from you.

    To get around the Workgroup Information File issue (the client had no documentation of this which is understandable considering the database is 20 years old and the original developer long gone), we opened a new Access 2003 database and imported all of the objects. This then allowed us to open the Access 2003 database in Access 2007 and perform the final upgrade steps.

    This particular database uses advanced VBA code and expected the data file to be in a particular position on the server. If the data file wasn't there, the reports didn't work. So we searched through the code removing this requirement. We also had to modify a few of the libraries

    Routt County Alcohol Board is a non-profit serving the city of Steam Boat in Colorado. Their database is a case management and reporting vehicle for their operations.

DEKRA Consulting is a Germany based company. Their Phildelphia office uses an Access Database as the backbone of their USA practice. It tracks clients, consultants, and the status of consulting project/engagements.

We took their back end Access tables and converted them to MySQL tables. We then migrated the data from the current Access database to the MySQL tables.

Now DEKRA's employees may easily use the database across the country and the world.
